Chuck Gibbs

In 2001, Dr. Charles (Chuck) Gibbs began practicing acupuncture in Nashville, TN after receiving a Masters’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, CA. In that same year, he finished a 300-hour post-graduate certification course in Acupuncture Orthopedics from Dr. Hua Gu, an orthopedic surgeon, and acupuncturist, at the American Acupuncture Academy, which included a 2-week externship in Beijing, China.
From 2012-2013 Dr. Gibbs studied Medical Qigong under J. Michael Wood at 5 Virtues Medical Qigong, and in 2020 he received a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree from Pacific College of Health and Science with an emphasis in Integrative Medicine. Nowadays, Dr. Gibbs has decided to concentrate his practice solely on sports medicine and orthopedics. He is currently working on a master’s degree in Sport Science and Rehabilitation at Logan University. Dr. Gibbs is passionate about helping athletes of all skill levels return to the sport they love to play and believes that the Structural Elements treatment approach and methodologies are the best way to achieve that goal.
Disha Sud
(se)® Orthopedic Wellness
Dr. Disha is a licensed acupuncturist with a Doctorate and Master of Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, using the holistic principles of Chinese medicine to help individuals achieve optimal health and well-being. In her treatments, Disha combines the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the Structural Elements approach to address the root cause of imbalance and support the body’s natural ability to heal. She incorporates a variety of modalities, including fire cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and Chinese nutritional and dietary counseling — all aimed at restoring balance, harmony, and long-term wellness.
She has experience treating chronic pain, digestive issues, migraines and headaches, insomnia, and emotional health challenges such as anxiety and depression. She also has a special interest in women’s health and provides compassionate care supporting women through all stages of life — including menstrual health, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause, and hormonal balance.
Outside of her clinical work, Disha enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, and discovering new foods and recipes!
Grace Moreno
(se)® Pilates
Teaching since 2012, Grace Moreno completed Pilates training and certification through leaders in both contemporary and classical Pilates through world-recognized Body Arts and Sciences International (BASI) and Peak Pilates, respectively. In addition, she has studied yoga, teaches spin through MadDog and is TRX® certified. Grace also recently enhanced her movement education through Low Pressure Fitness (Spain), a modality focused on the rehabilitation and health of the pelvic floor, diastases and postural reeducation applying Hypopressive breathing along with specific movements, fascial work and nervous system regulation.
Along with a diverse variety of special populations workshops and certifications in the field of movement, rehabilitation, healing and wellness; Grace has also taken certifications in lymphatic therapies, Reiki, chakra and multidimensional healing.
Grace’s passion for healing allows her to bring happiness, well-being and empowerment to people through a healthier body, stronger mind and peaceful spirit. She is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has been living stateside for over 20 years.
Jason Knicley
CCO, PT, DPT, MTC, CDNT

Jason attended the University of Maryland, College Park where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He then attended the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences where he graduated with honors in 2010 with his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
Jason is a highly accomplished physical therapist specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine with an emphasis in manual therapy and advanced manipulation of the spine and extremities. He holds an advanced Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) and is a Certified Dry Needling Therapist (CDNT) through the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments. Furthermore, Jason is a certified Graston clinician, treating and healing soft tissue impairments and is a level one certified medical professional through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), which looks at how to increase player performance through a deep understanding of how the body functions during the golf swing.
Prior to joining Structural Elements®, Jason was a clinic director at an outpatient orthopedic private practice in Baltimore, Maryland. When away from the clinic, Jason is a passionate sports fan and in his free time enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, working out, running, golfing and playing soccer.
Jocelyn Shannon
MSN, BSN, RN
(se)® LAB and Recovery
Jocelyn earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California—Berkeley, where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Public Health and Nutritional Sciences. She was a four-year D1 lacrosse player who, like many collegiate athletes, experienced multiple injuries and surgeries while playing. These injuries and subsequent rehabilitations allowed her to return to the field and sparked her interest in orthopedic recovery and wellness.
Jocelyn continued her education after working in the private sector and obtained her RN from Hagerstown Community College in 2011. She has worked in cardiac units, MedSurg floors, PACU, intraoperative, and dermatology throughout her nursing career. In 2018, she also obtained her BSN and MSN from Western Governors University, where she focused on Nursing Education. She loves working as a nurse, being one-on-one with patients, and helping others.
Jocelyn enjoys working out and learning about different recovery options to help keep her healthy and moving without pain. As a wife and mother of two, she loves spending time outdoors and playing sports with her children.
Patrick Thompson
(se)® Orthopedic Wellness
Pat Thompson is a licensed acupuncturist who graduated from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Minnesota. Pat believes that we are all entitled to a healthy life as a birthright, and this involves caring for the person as a whole. With this in mind, he constantly seeks to build on his education and has earned certification as a nutrition coach with Precision Nutrition, as well as a Qi Gong teaching certification under Master Lee Holden. Pat has an interest in athletics and athletic training that has never waned since receiving his bachelor’s degree in exercise science, and has been certified by Whitfield Reaves, the pioneer of sports medicine acupuncture, in his Sports Medicine Acupuncture apprenticeship program.
Tom Cong
(se)® Orthopedic Wellness
Dr. Cong is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and licensed acupuncturist with over 17 years of clinical experience, following a 12-year career in the fitness and rehabilitation industry. His foundation began with a Master’s in Kinesiology & Exercise Science, where he served as a fitness director, personal trainer, and certified post-rehab specialist. In those years, he developed innovative methods based on meridian structure and intuitive neuromuscular integration for restoring alignment, mobility, and functionality, helping clients recover from injuries and regain confidence in their health.
Building on his fitness and rehabilitation expertise, Tom went on to study acupuncture, herbal therapeutics, oriental medicine, and energy healing, earning advanced degrees including a Master of Acupuncture, Master of Oriental Medicine, Doctor of Oriental Medicine and certifications in Chinese Herbal Therapeutics. His work bridges orthopedic recovery with whole-person healing by integrating acupuncture, manual therapy, sports medicine, and vibrational therapies.
From 2009 to 2019, Dr. Cong co-founded and directed Mindful Healing Spa in Bethesda, MD, a premier Integrative practice known for its blend of acupuncture, holistic medicine and wellness therapies. During that decade, the practice became a trusted destination for patients seeking whole-person care, and it was honored with the Opencare Patient’s Choice Award for quality holistic health services.
